* Hidden Art Awards 2007 sixixis

sixixis win Most Inspiring / Influential Hidden Art Cornwall Member 2007

sixixis were winners at the fourth Annual Hidden Art Awards, which took place on Thursday 13 December at Rich Mix on Bethnal Green Road. The Awards ceremony marks the incredible achievements of Hidden Art members in 2008. A selection of shortlisted members also took part in an exhibition held at the ground floor Rich Mix Gallery from 6-17 December.

Chris Jarratt, one third of sixixis, collected the Award for Most Influential / Inspiring Hidden Art Cornwall Member from journalist Barbara Chandler.

Chris, along with fellow sixixis members, Tom Raffield and Charlie Whinney, had another successful year in 2007, premiering their exclusive new range at Tent London during London Design Week, and then at Origin. They also started lecturing and doing steam-bending workshops within schools and universities.

Despite strong competition from Hidden Art Cornwall's other members, sixixis did enough to maintain the prominence of Cornish design on a national scale.

The Hidden Art Awards had 14 categories and the Hidden Art Cornwall award for Most Inspiring / Influential Member had a shortlist of five designer-makers, determined by public voting:

The selection panel:
William Knight - London Design Festival
Max Fraser
Barbara Chandler - Homes & Property in The Evening Standard
