We are pleased to announce the results of the three awards presented at the 2007 Design Fair: the Inside Cornwall Award for Work Truly Insired by Cornwall, the Royal Cornwall Polytechnic Award for Innovation, and the award for best stand.

 

The awards were judged from 4 - 6pm on Friday 24 August and presented at the private view.

 

 

 

 

 

 

The Inside Cornwall Award asked what it is about Cornwall that inspires you and how this is illustrated in your work. The winner was ceramicist, Charlotte Jones, who had her work featured in the December issue of Inside Cornwall magazine and displayed at Mid Cornwall Galleries, the largest gallery of contemporary Arts and Crafts in the West Country. 

 

The Royal Cornwall Polytechnic Society Award was in recognition of innovation in concept, function, process or market potential and asked how a new approach has improved your product or business. The winner was recent graduate, Olivia Cassells, who received a cheque for £250.

The award for best stand was sponsored by Wadebridge Wines and Cornish Food Hampers and was won by silversmith, Abigail Brown.
